Digital Radio Mondiale is the probably the last memberĀ of the west European family of digital standards covering terrestrial broadcasting from 150 kHz to 2 GHz. There is more technical information on DRM30 and DRM120 at the Radioeng web site. DRM fills the gap between 150 kHz (Long Wave) and Band II FM (108 MHz).

DRM adoption and development has suffered badly from the fact that there are few low-cost receivers on the market and that none of the major mass producers of receivers have put one into production. The manufacturers argue that since there are very few programmes why should they make receivers! The broadcasters reply that they won't invest in programmes until there are low cost receivers in she shops. This stand-off has lasted for too long.
